This Darlene O'Steen sampler was stitched by a dear friend Beverly Hamer, who passed away on Feb. 4, 2013. She had the most wonderful cross stitch shop in Nashville called Cross Stitch Corner. It was inviting and cozy and I spent many hours there browsing and chatting. I was lucky enough to acquire this sampler upon the shops closing this year. It will be a wonderful reminder of such a beautiful person and the beautiful stitching she had done.
I took a little break from stitching to crochet this lovely doily. It's in Crochet Traditions magazine Fall 2011. It appeared originally in The Modern Priscilla
Feb 1914. I used no.10 thread by South Maid in Ecru and a 7 hook. It's appx 16" round.
Got this wonderful piece in the mail yesterday from Leigh for our Sampler Guild's annual birthday mailart exchange. Such a wonderful little cake design on the front. The back has a beautiful floral border with matching lining. She sewed two pockets and stashed me some wonderful needles inside. I was so delighted to receive such a lovely piece.
