| Louisa F Pesel Historical Designs for Embroidery: Linen and Cross Stitch I manged to find a Issue 1 to add to my collection. The one in front is a newer version good for working with. Several of Pesel's "notebooks" are here brought together in a single volume. It consists of hundreds of embroidery patterns and motifs charted from historical samplers and other articles and annotated to aid the embroiderer. The main chapters are: double-running or backstitch; cross-stitch; canvas embroidery; leaves from an embroidery notebook. Louisa Pesel was a well-known embroiderer and designer who died in 1947. I just found your beautiful blog! Your, And They Sinned, is really magnificent.
I also have some of Pesels's books and find them to be a wonderful resource. I really like the green floss colors used on the cover of the newer Historical Designs book.
